Steve Kim has taught music since 1973. He is an associate faculty member in the Music Technology department of Shoreline Community College , and teaches privately in Seattle, WA . He has served on the faculty of Pacific Luthern University, The National Guitar Workshop, The Experience Music Project, The All-Electric Bass Workshop at Seattle Pacific University, The Bill Evans Summer Institute Of Dance, Musicworks Northwest, Arts In Motion, and The Roberts Music Institute. In 2015, Steve was named a recipient of The Evergreen State College 2015-16 Teacher Excellence Award.
Steve draws upon his experience as a music performer , an educator, and as a student (of bassists Ray Brown, Gary Peacock and the late composer/pianist Charlie Banacos) to create instruction that is personally tailored, comprehensive, and effective. Individual lessons are available for Electric and Acoustic Bass, Music Theory, Composition and Improvisation for $75 per one hour session.
